To illustrate each species the samples chosen were selected to be as representative as possible. Samples are reproduced using modern printing techniques, Actual look of wood and character may vary. The top half is coated with water-borne urethane finish, the lower half is coated with oil-modified urethane finish. All colors are “natural”- no stains were used. In most cases, the samples are plain-sawn, select or better grade flooring. There are many variations within each species, including grain, color and texture. Some species are UV sensitive and will change color significantly over time such as Brazilian Cherry, Jarrah, Padauk, Purpleheart, Santos Mahogany, and others. Always ask to see the “real deal”, before making any commitments.
